How a METS Microgrid Works

  • A coordinated system of solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), and diesel/gas generators is controlled by a central Energy Management System (EMS).
  • In normal operation, solar meets the load and charges the batteries.
  • The EMS discharges batteries during peaks to cut costs.
  • Generators start automatically only when required for resilience or extended low-solar periods.
  • The system runs grid-connected or fully off-grid (island mode) with seamless transitions.
